The focus of this year’s innovation forum is sustainability and new business models.

How do we cope with the constantly increasing consumption and decreasing resources in the world, where the environmental impacts resulting from production have become ever more painfully felt? 

At MELT, we will examine whether product development based on a circular or platform economy can save the world. What do these concepts mean to producers and consumers in practice?

How to implement them? What can we learn from others, and how to choose the right path for us?  These and other topics will be examined in the six subject blocks of the MELT innovation forum. 

The subject block called ‘How to preserve one’s identity in the maelstrom of changes?’ presents the story of the development of a special and unique product, and discusses how to protect one’s creation from counterfeiting. In addition, the role of physical identity in the digital world will be discussed. 

‘Will future technologies save the world?’ examines various constructive ideas for the future and technologies both here and abroad. 

‘Is conscious manufacturing a challenge for entrepreneurs?’ focuses on environmentally friendly innovation and its importance.  

‘How to involve employees in change?’ examines the involvement of employees in the implementation of innovative projects, based on the example of three companies, and analyses the impact on the overall work environment. 

The subject block "Challenges of the Future Food?"  deals with food and how it will change in time. Will bread in the future taste the same? Or will it be something new? 

The subject block ‘Does a changing environment require new business models?’ takes a closer look at various organisations and their innovative approaches to business.
